What's Included & What's Not
Your exam fee covers the administration of your paper(s) at your assigned examination centre. It typically does not cover:
- Transport to and from your examination centre (especially if reassigned to a centre far from home)
- Accommodation if your centre requires overnight travel
- Study materials, textbooks, or revision courses
- Internship-related costs after passing (these come later, during registration)
Budgeting Tips
Pay early, pay once
Avoid late registration penalty fees by completing your application and payment as soon as the window opens.
Budget for one resit, just in case
Even strong candidates occasionally need a resit. Setting aside the resit fee in advance reduces financial stress if it happens.
Invest in preparation, not just the exam fee
A Ksh 5,000 prep course is a small fraction of the cost (in time, money, and delayed income) of failing and needing to resit. Treat preparation as part of your exam budget, not an optional extra.
💰 The Real Cost of Failing
A resit means another exam fee, possibly another semester's delay in starting paid work as a licensed nurse, and additional travel costs. Spending Ksh 5,000 on structured, topic-based preparation upfront is often cheaper than the true cost of a resit.
